Faulty charger
From the beginning it seems the charger wasn’t working very well. I would charge it all day and it would only last about 4 hours at most. I contacted costumer service and they have yet to get back to me. Charger lasted about a month before it gave out. Not sure if it’s the charger or speaker. For almost $500 you would think I could get this issue resolved.

BIG Sound!!
This speaker sounds great! A lot of bass even in an open air setting. I ran the battery dead after charging it fully. At low to medium volume, the speaker battery lasted about 21 hours. We used it out in the shop at work and it filled the large space with ease. The bass is a little heavy at lower volumes, but that isn't a big deal. Overall I really like this speaker and was really impressed with the loudness of it. I do wish that there was an equalizer in the app though. I would definitely recommend this speaker for anyone that wants a loud full sounding speaker!

I literally feel like I need a yacht to justify how loud and crisp this speaker is. It's pretty big but it's really easy to carry around and has a smart design. It's really cool that it can hold a charge for multiple hours. 100% recommend. Sound as you would expect from JBL.

Excellent Quality Sound And Make
The speakers sound quality is very impressive. I have had other JBL products in the past and the bass has sometimes been lacking, with this boombox the bass is amazing. The sound quality is excellent. Another thing to note is that there is no delay between the sound of a video and the the sound output by the speaker. I have had audio devices in the past where when watching a video the sound output was delayed and thus did not match the video, that is not the case with this boombox. The sound matches perfectly to the video.
It is built quite well and has proved itself to be durable. It was VERY easy to set up and pair with a bluetooth device as well as very easy to pair with a new bluetooth device. This boombox also has a port for an aux cord so using bluetooth is not your only option. There is also a USB port to even charge your phone. The battery length was very good and if I remember correctly lasted as long as it was advertised.
I would absolutley recommend this speaker to anybody look for a quality speaker with quality sound. It does not just function as a very loud boombox for parties, it has a wide sound range and can be used at lower sound levels for personal use. I also brought it to the beach for a day and it worked great.

BEST JBL Product I have ever owned!
The first thing I noticed about this unit when I opened up the package was the durability of the boombox. I mean this unit is well built, tough, and you know it is going to with stand the elements. After charging the boombox up, I synced to my phone in an easy second, and was ready to test this speaker out. OMG! The sound and bass that came from this boombox was off the hook!
I cannot even begin to tell you how crisp the sound and how perfectly balanced the bass was with any song that I played. One thing that really stands out to me was the bluetooth range. This is a big deal to me. In the past I have owned some wireless speakers that the further you get away from the unit the quality of sound is affected, and you eventually lose signal, turning the music off. I was able to wander all over the house, and backyard and not once did I lose a signal from the speaker.
This past week we took the speaker camping and it was an added plus. This is where the durability really came in handy being in the woods, out on the water, and just out in the elements, I was not once worried of damaging the speaker.
Overall this is hands down the best JBL product I have ever owned. I would highly recommend if you are looking for your next indoor or outdoor speaker.

More Custom Ability Please!
Nice Speaker but oh how much nicer it would be with two easy additions for your customers who bought this item. Please develop A decent supporting app with a user customizable EQ. also, a remote would be awesome to use when your playback device is hooked up to the boombox.

0.4.4 update ruined jbl boombox 2
Bought jbl boombox 2 for $500. Sounded great and put out 102 dB. Then updated to firmware 0.4.4 and it is terrible. Will never buy another product from this company and neither will anyone I know.

I bought this a week ago as a substitute for a radio in my Polaris RZR. I mounted it behind the seat on the roll bar. It’s water proof, jar and shock proof. I was standing on the trailer and fell off onto the speaker with my full body weight and it didn’t phase the speaker one bit. I can drive 50+ mph in the rzr and still hear clear audio and can’t even get it above 3/4 volume without hurting my ears.

Best JBL I’ve owned
I have owned tons of JBL & Harman/Kardon products. I have a bunch of the portable JBLs (charge, flip, and pulse). I also have had multiple HK Onyx studios. That being said, this is one of my favorite products so far from them! I bought this for the boat and it is extremely capable. It’s a little expensive, but I am happy I pulled the trigger and got it. It fills large spaces with quality sound!

This thing rocks!
I have wanted this speaker for a few years, but the price always put me off, it was a want, not a need, then COVID happened. I got tired of listening to what my neighbors were listening too and my other speakers were old and tired. This was on sale, so I bought it and I’m glad I did because we also got a projector for outside and this speaker is great for movies also. It gets real loud, has great sound and great battery life. I use it when I am working in the yard, garage, of if we’re just hanging out , really glad I bought it!

Does not worth $500.00 a fair price would $300.00
After couple months it only turn on if it is connected on the power cable. After turn it on you can run on nattery, but you will not be able to turn it on without the cable.
I have a friend with the same issue...
Also, the “party” does not work well. I bought a Flip 5 and is impossible to connect them.
The app is very poor. Does not help at all...

This isn't intended to be mean. I just read responses from purchasers such as myself, and the response back from customer service.
No, the batteries aren't the same capacity as the older JBL boombox. The older one is rated at 20,000 mAh, the newer one is rated at 10,000mAh. These ARE the battery capacities! The newer speaker may last as long, which is understandable, BUT the capacities, for better wording, power storage is the same. I purchased the original JBL boombox by the way. I have not purchased this one, yet???

I've had the speaker for only a few days but have listened to at least four hours of music on it at all different volumes both indoors and outdoors. Holy cow does this thing pack a punch. I personally don't think I'll ever need to turn it to max volume. The sound quality is very clear and the bass is incredible. I use it by the pool and can hear everything so well even over the whir of the pool machinery and spa jets. The asking price is totally reasonable; the Boombox 2 is worth every penny. I have noticed that hi-hats sound a little muddled, as in the clear crash I expect and am used to from the JBL car speakers sounds somewhat distorted, almost like a warbling bass note. I only noticed this while listening to my preferred genre (Metal) but didn't notice any detractors to the sound quality when playing other genres (Pop/ R&B). Even still, this is a phenomenal product. I would highly recommend anyone considering any portable speaker to go with the JBL Boombox 2.

I received this product to test it out and full disclosure, I didn't know what I was getting myself into...I'm not an audiophile and thought it was just a speaker for the house. That said, for me the sound quality is great - balanced, with not too much treble or bass and a nice full sound. Bluetooth connects easily and range seems sufficient. I mostly leave it plugged into the wall but I've used it for about a week to test the battery with no need for a recharge (I do turn it off when not in use). I've tested the volume not even to max and it would absolutely be loud enough for an outdoor gathering, and it's heavy enough to feel sturdy: not fragile but also not portable enough for a long walk.
I have no concept of what a good speaker should cost but it will never be worth hundreds of dollars to me, so TO ME the value isn't amazing. Your mileage may and probably will vary. I can say I definitely never expected to own a speaker this nice and have zero complaints.

Its not a good idea to make the boom box 2 incompatible with connect+, I was building up a collection of JBL speakers, but now I have to choose between lagging behind in sound quality and tech or ditching my older (expensive investment) models.
Totally agree. JBL need to come up with a mod to enhance connect + to partyboost. Very misleading for new purchaser's of their products... "I think I'll buy a boombox 2 and a xtreme 2, should sound awesome together?!". Uhhh no!

I’ve read reports about static noises with the original B.B. with low battery voltage, audible especially when the music is at low volume. Was this addressed in the B.B. 2? Just got the B.B 2 and so far so good, but I haven’t drained the battery yet.

JBL Boombox 2 has the PartyBoost feature. It can only connect with other PartyBoost speakers. As of the moment, it can only connect with Flip 5, Pulse 4, and other Boombox 2.

What is the cord with the powerbox used for? Is this for extended use like a power bank? is this power bank charged? if you plug it in by itself it doesn't light up to tell you if it's charged or not. When do I use this versus the standard power cord.
Our JBL Boombox 2 has an included power adaptor and plug this is for charging the unit. This is to protect the unit while charging. It is not a powerbank.

Our JBL Boombox 2 has Bluetooth version 5.1. The range of it while connected to your device can go up to 50 ft, this could vary depending on the environment. Blockages such as walls and other wireless signals like WiFi and Bluetooth devices can also cause interference.

Why there is no indoor/outdoor button on the back of the unit? I like the sound of the outdoor mode.
With the first generation Boombox, the outdoor mode was louder but the bass needed some improvement. With the new Boombox 2, we have improved both the bass and loudness, making one perfect and balanced sound setting for all environments.

Can i connect between the JBL boombox & the JBL boombox 2 can it speak together

JBL Boombox 2 supports PartyBoost and you can connect other speakers also supporting PartyBoost, such as Boombox 3.
JBL Boombox supports JBL Connect+ and you can only connect this speaker with other speakers also supporting JBL Connect+.

Why when you get at about 70 - 80% volume the bass stops increasing by this point, and as you go up to a 100% volume only the mid and highs go up in volume and the bass stops increasing. Why does the JBL Boombox 2 does this? Instead of going up linearly?

I know that "the big bass" is always emphasized, but what about the trebbel and mid range??? How do they sound or are they lost in the big bass???
Rest assured that with its two tweeters and two woofers the highs and mids won't be overpowered by the bass.

Hi everyone I was going to ask you all is the JBL BOOMBOX 2 going to be 80 watts without being plugged in or not ? !!!
Specs say 2 x 30W RMS on battery, 2 x 40W RMS on mains.

Why the lack of compatibility?? I really don’t understand the explanation your are giving. Give us a break, don’t say things like Bluetooth 4 can’t communicate with 5.1. Ok, different versions but not even connect the connect+ and partyboost? Fix this!
JBL Connect + and JBL Partyboost speakers can't connect with each other simply due to hardware specifications on each product. This can't be fixed by any software updates. We appreciate your feedback and will send it to the right department.
