Thank you for your question. When connected as a stereo pair, the primary speaker (left) will be able to accept voice commands. If however, this is not happening with your speakers, the issue might be caused by limited network connectivity. Resetting your speaker and router and making sure that your speakers are not too close to your router might solve the issue. If you're having issues with setting up the new speakers on your new WiFi router, you may try resetting to factory settings. To do so, press and hold the microphone mute button for more than 15 seconds, the LED will blink one-time. Then, let go of the button, the unit will restart and you should hear the audible chime start-up tone indicating it's ready for set up.

No, our JBL Link Portable is mainly designed for Google Assistant. The app for this speaker is Google Home app. The JBL Connect app will only work with portable speakers that have Connect, Connect+ and PartyBoost.

The voice assistant/ Google Assistant can't be removed or modified from our JBL Link Portable

The main difference between the JBL Link Portable and our JBL Link 20 is that the Link portable has 1 speaker driver for 360 degree sound rated at 20W while our Link 20 has 2 speakers rated at 10W. Yes you can. You can create a speaker group in Google Home app to have them play the same music in different rooms. Our portable speakers have a PCM (Protection Circuit Module) and charge management IC built-in, that manages and detects when charging the unit. Once the unit is fully charged it will cut off the current to protect the battery.

Yes, it should respond to volume change commands. You could try to use " Hey Google, Volume to 65% (any volume level).

We have no word on any new firmware update for the Link Portable. If you're having lag on Airplay 2, please ensure that there are not many obstacles between your speaker and your source device to minimize interference. If you're using Chromecast on the TV the output sound cannot be set to another speaker wirelessly and has to be on the TV or any devices(i.e. soundbar, home theater system) connected to the TV.
