Is there a battery life improvement having 14100 mah of capacity instead of the old Charge 5 which has only 7500 mah? I can see the same 20 hours of playback time. Am I missing something?
The Wi-Fi uses up more power than just functioning on Bluetooth. To prevent end-users from missing out on their 20 hours of playback time, our engineers increased the battery size of the Charge 5 Wi-Fi's battery to allow users to get the same amount of playback time if they are listening to music via Wi-Fi.

will this model work with party boost?
Thanks for your question. Our JBL Charge 5 WiFi isn't compatible with the Partyboost feature. However, you can connect two or more Charge 5s WiFi through WiFi using Google Home and creating a speaker group. This will allow you to play audio on all synced speakers simultaneously.

Can I turn On the Charge 5 from the JBL app or Alexa?

how does the wifi work? Is it like a booster or is it genuinely like its own router.

The JBL Charge 5 Wi-Fi connects to a Wi-Fi connection to enable casting to the speaker through your network. It doesn't work as a booster or Wi-Fi broadcaster.

Does this have support for Google Home speaker groups for multi-room listening (not Alexa)?

The JBL Charge 5 is not compatible with Google, however, you can connect more than 100 other JBL Charge 5 via Partyboost. However, there will be a limitation with this, as the Bluetooth can cover between 2 to 5 metres and materials around may have an effect on the range of the Bluetooth too.

Does the charge 5 wifi play Amazon music? And can it be controlled through the charge 5 wifi or is it controlled via the Amazon device ?
Yes, JBL speakers with Bluetooth capability can usually connect to Amazon devices, like Amazon Echo, through Bluetooth and play music from them. Just pair the speaker with your Amazon device in the Bluetooth settings, and you should be able to play music wirelessly. It can be controlled with your Amazon device.

I already have the charge 5 and are looking to buy this charge 5 wifi are the compatible to connect via the app or partyboost?
Thanks for your question. Our JBL Charge 5 WiFi isn't compatible with the JBL Portable App, and it can't be linked with JBL Charge 5. You can customize EQ and control all of your compatible JBL Wi-Fi speakers through the JBL One App.

When connected through WiFi does this speaker support Hi Res Lossless audio on Apple Music?
Thanks for your inquiry. Our JBL Charge 5 Wifi only supports Hi-res audio streaming using the Qobuz streaming service through the JBL One App.
